In order to motivate myself to do hand lettering practice, I decided to create artworks related to my favorite places. This one is about the birth of a river in my country, Catalonia. "Ter" is the name of the river, and "Ull" means eye, because the little lake is where the river see the light for the very first time. I attach the process of creation, from hand drawing, then scan and finally vectorization with Inkscape. Duotone effect created with Gimp. Yes, there is life beyond Adobe ;-)
First scan when the artwork was just inked....there were many changes in the vectorization process, to achieve more balance in the strokes.
